In Japan the red crowned crane is a very revered bird, it is a symbol of strength, good fortune and longevity. The Fukagawa Seiji house lit its first kiln in 1650 and founded its own crafts company, Fukagawa Seiji, in 1894. After receiving the grand prize at the Paris World's Fair in 1900, Fukagawa Seiji became an official supplier to the imperial family. Japanese company in 1910. Producing all of its materials, glazes and stains in-house, from basic ingredients to the finishing touches, this unique company has the largest team of experts in all of Arita.
