Directoire Style Desk Late 19th Century
Elegant desk with cut sides in cedar burl veneer in Directoire style, beautifully made from the end of the 19th century. It opens with three belt drawers and two side pulls. A bronze ingot mold surrounds the tray. Beautiful gilded bronze ornamentation on the uprights, four tapered gadrooned legs. The tray and the pull tabs are covered in leather, the latter is in used condition on the tray, the leather of the pull tabs is in very good condition having probably been little used. DIMENSIONS: 1.61m x 0.76m and 0.75m high. Each pull measures 0.54m in length. Delivery on estimate.
