Large Crater Vase After Antiquity - Sosibios - Louvre
Vase of Sosibios Plaster casting after the marble original H. 75 cm W. 43 cm D. 39 cm Vase of Sosibios: The original work is preserved at the Louvre Museum and dates from the first century BC, including the mythological frieze decoration reveals Artemis and Hermes, among other characters. Its name refers to the Athenian sculptor who is believed to have created it, although this vase was probably discovered in Italy. The vase was inventoried at Versailles in the royal collections of France during the reign of Louis XIV
