"Antique Painting, Marine Painting, Large Marina With Boats And Fishermen, 19th Century. (qm573)"
This is a Marine Oil Painting, which represents a Large Marina With Boats and Fishermen in a rough sea.
The work depicts a moment of fishing with sailors in their sailboats.
It is an oil painting on canvas from the late 19th or early 20th century.

The painting is signed in the bottom right by Albert Isidore De Vos (1868-1950),
a Belgian painter
of landscape and marine paintings.
He was born in Oostakker and died in Ghent in 1950.
He studied at the Ghent Academy. He painted mainly fishermen working at sea,
an environment he loves and knows personally.
So he knows the calm sea, but also the raging sea with all the intense colours
of the morning or evening light. He participates in the Ghent Salons.

Teacher at the Eeklo Academy
until the 1930s.
The frame and the antique canvas were cleaned and restored.
