Object description :

"Attributes Of Music In Golden Wood From The 18th Century"
Attributes of music in carved and gilded wood.
Top of door representing in the center a violin positioned in front of two wind instruments, probably a flute and what appears to be an oboe, and surrounded by laurel branches.
They are topped with a ribbon with three knots, tied with a rosette from which two branches escape, winding along the sides and from which fall delicately through the center of the violin, two fringed fabrics tying the laurel branches in the lower part.
A tied purse is placed on the purple and falls heavily behind its ropes.
An archer completes this musical reconstruction.
In the symbolism of musical attributes, the violin refers in particular to virtuosity and emotional expression. The flutes represent the sweetness of melody and sounds. The laurel wreath is a sign of success and inspiration. And the stock market, symbol of wealth and power.

The gilded wood door tops were notably designed to be of significant size in order to attract attention and beautify the space.
They decorated the doorways of living rooms or music rooms to add a touch of elegance and eloquence to prestigious interiors. We find these decorations in castles or aristocratic buildings.

Very beautiful finely chiseled and sculpted work from the 18th century, in its original gilding.

Dimensions: H 47 cm x W 81 cm x D 8 cm
