Pair Of Louis XV Period Lanterns

A rare pair of gilt bronze lanterns from the Louis XV period.

Cylindrical in shape with five curved panes, it perfectly illustrates the elegance and refinement of the Rococo style.
It opens through a side door discreetly integrated into the structure.
It is decorated with several garlands of foliage with berries in the upper section, including a large acanthus leaf in the upper center of each pane. The edges are decorated with the same motif in the upper section, with a curved and openwork pattern, and are finished with inverted pine cones at the ends of the lower edges, typical symbols of the decorative vocabulary of this period.

Each lantern has three light arms. The straight sockets are highlighted by smooth cylindrical bobeches.
It is supported by five two-part, curved arms that join at the top with scrolls.

It is rare to have a pair of lanterns of the same production from the Louis XV period. Their original patinated gilding gives them a vintage luster.
Electrically mounted, this rare pair is very interesting due to its rather impressive size of 91 cm.
