Masterfully genre scene with rococo society was executed in the second part of 19th century by well-known German painter Jakob Emanuel Gaisser (1825 Augsburg - 1899 Munich). Father of genre painter Max Gaisser, the artist was a pupil of Joh. Geyer in Augsburg, studied then in the Art Academy in Munich ( by Clemens Zimmerman and Jul. Schnorr). He settled in Munich, where since 1867 he exhibited his works in the Art Union. Gaisser recieved the popularity for his genre scenes with monks,card and chess players from Rococo time , most of all with many humor. Works by him situated in museums of Mainz , Rostock, Chemnitz, Munich.
