Oil On Canvas Theater Scene
Today we present for sale this spectacular oil on canvas representing a theatrical scene, a representation of exactly who could be the Bourgeois gentleman according to MOLIERE? This oil is dated and signed A. ARMAND and dated 1869. It would seem that this painter was active under the Empire of Napoleon III and there our painting is dated from the very end of the Emperor's reign since a year later we move on under the 3rd Republic (1870). This painting is magnificent and well elaborated, look at the quality of the theater clothing. We bought this painting without frame unfortunately, some usual restorations, it could be of interest and we hope an artist of French comedy. (E24)
