Box With Miniature, Voltaire, Rousseau, Franklin, Late 18th

Rare tortoiseshell box with the lid decorated with a gouache miniature on engraved ground representing: Voltaire, Rousseau and Benjamin Franklin. This is of course an allegory to the Age of Enlightenment. Work dating from the end of the 18th century. Good general condition, small stains. Photos taken with the original window, hence some reflections. Dimensions: diameter of the box 8.2 cm of the miniature 5.5 cm thickness 2.2 cm
