Franck ELIM (act.c.1928-1943)

Parisian painter, Franck Elim is known to high society for his paintings of famous horses, of great hypnic prices. He is also a member of the Society of Horse Painters and Sculptors.

This canvas, with its large size and perspective, offers the viewer a very special view of Paris. We are at the very beginning of Boulevard Saint-Germain, with a view overlooking Place de La Concorde.

This one is dated 1940. The painter offers a whole postcard universe: Paris under the snow. Through its perspective, starting from the right of the painting and opening onto the entire canvas, the viewer plunges into a Paris where snow envelops the few people who dare to go out. In the distance, Concorde with its obelisk and the Sacré-Cœur that can be glimpsed.
