Fine Aubusson Tapestry Early 18th Century
Rare fine Aubusson tapestry in wool and silk. Early 18th century, very colorful. Decorated with a landscape, in the center, a castle surrounded by moats connected to gardens, by bridges and arches. In the foreground, 2 waders against a backdrop of a waterfall. On either side a dog on the right and on the left a fox watching for birds. Border with lambrequins, vases of flowers, heads of bearded men and shells on a brown background. In the central part, at the top, the coat of arms of the BLUMENSTEIN family. It bears the inscription of the weaver PH.AUBUSSON at the bottom right.
