Signed lower right for renowned painter Francis E Jamieson (1895 – 1950) was an English / Scottish  painter. Scottish landscape depicting by a mountain lake scene. In the foreground are two picturesque pine trees that stand on the shore of a small lake, their branches intricately intertwined. This emphasis gives an unusual perspective to the scene. In the distance, a high mountain looms, its peak shrouded in fog and thunderclouds. The artist skillfully uses a combination of colors and subtle undertones to create a sense of depth and atmosphere. The sun's rays break through the clouds, creating a magnificent contrast of light and shadow that plays across the landscape, highlighting the beauty and magic of the moment captured by the artist. Vintage oil painting on canvas, signed, unframed.

Jamieson after a holiday to the Highlands of Scotland, became obsessed with painting highland landscapes and became one of the most prolific artists of his time. The paintings of F. E. Jamieson were so fashionable he was contracted to paint exclusively for various furniture stores painting scenes on furniture. His work was often in a more traditional Victorian style and his pictures were reproduced as postcards by Ajelli and Co of London around 1920. Jamieson is believed to have painted under eleven different artist names so he could sell more of his paintings undetected by his employers. These aliases include J McGregor, Graham Williams, Henry Stewart, and W Richards. There are other pseudonyms that include Aubrey Ramus, Stanley Penn, A de Perrin and others
