Alabaster sculpture representing a child praying made in the Florentine workshop of Luigi Pampaloni (circa 1830).
This model was a great success in the XIX century, it was originally made for the funeral monument of the younger daughter of Polish Countess Anna Potocki.
Luigi Pampaloni studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara. He had a prolific studio in Florence. He was close to the Grand Duchess of Tuscany Elisa Bonaparte.
This sculpture is very finely carved by the workshop of Luigi Pampaloni.
