Landscape From The Salon De Provence School - By Jules Agard
Oil on canvas by J.Agard for Jules Agard. He was born in 1871 in Grans en Provence, a personality of the short-lived Salon de Provence school with Milon and Loubon, and having exhibited at the Salon before the First World War. Here dated 1935, this painting dates from his period at the Etang de Berre, painting regional mutualism, at a time when the agricultural and rural world was losing momentum, he revitalized it with bright warm colors and showed the beautiful work of the earth. The subject is located near Miramas given the style of the houses, with a rural, human and peaceful sunset. The largest public collection of Agard is at the Musée de Salon et de la Crau in Salon de Provence.
