Italy, first third of the 20th century or earlier, very pretty and important bronze sculpture with medal patina after the work “The Capitoline Wolf” or “Capitoline Wolf” which is in Rome, at the Capitoline Museum. Nurturer and protector, she is a symbol of the legend of Romus and Romulus, which she collects at the foot of the Palatine Hill, as well as of the founding of Rome. It is represented on an antique base bearing the words SPQR meaning “Senatus Populusque Romanus” (the Senate and the Roman people). Unusual dimensions: Length 22.5 cm. Height 18.7 cm. Width 10.2 cm. The scale indicator in the last photograph is a small model of a lighter from a brand known to everyone. Beautiful quality of the cast iron as well as the patina. Good condition.
