"French School Or Attributed To Maximilien Luce (1858-1941)? “ Lively Beach At Tréport “. Hayet."
Very pretty post-impressionist composition representing a lively beach scene at Le Tréport, bears an undeciphered signature at the bottom left + inscriptions on the back, I do not think from the hand of the painter but rather from a person during a gift + collector's stamp. Format of the cardboard alone: 13x21cm and 20.5x28.5cm including frame. It is therefore a superb post-impressionist composition from the beginning of the 20th century, I would say between 1925 and 1935, representing a beach scene at Le Tréport; despite the fact that this painting seems to be signed at the bottom left, I haven't been able to decipher the signature, but for now, the composition, the subject, the touch and the palette remind me a lot of Maximilien Luce, especially since he very often came to paint at Le Tréport (see last 2 photos of 2 paintings by Luce representing almost the same place). However, I cannot say that it is really him, perhaps another talented artist with a certain influence, in any case I can guarantee the period and the very good quality of this artwork. It comes in a pretty modern gold frame.
