Study at the Academy of Mechelen -

After training at the academies of Brussels (1877-1884) and Antwerp, he worked in Brussels before becoming a teacher at the Academy of his hometown in 1913.

Painter of historical and religious subjects and portraits, Victor Van Dyck began working as a decorative painter in the 1880s.

He was responsible for the interior decoration of commercial establishments and private homes in Brussels1.

Among other things, in 1902, with Adolphe Crespin, he created the decor for the Solvay Library, wall decorations in the Max Hallet hotel built by Victor Horta and two painted canvases dated 1907, in a residential house at 256 Chaussée d 'Haesht2,3.

As he acquired expertise in ceiling decoration, he was invited to work in London and Blackpool to create theater ceiling decorations1.
