"Guerre De Vendée, July 1795, Absolute Leave For A Horse Hunter Wounded In Combat"
Extremely rare absolute leave given to a mounted light cavalry hunter wounded in combat during the Vendée War. The document, written entirely by hand on laid paper, is dated 6 Thermidor year 3 of the republic, i.e. July 1795. This soldier who belonged to the army of the west was wounded by two saber blows "while fighting the rebels of the Vendée". The document bears several signatures to be identified. The red wax seal is very faded and illegible. Document in its "juice", folds, tears, holes, stains. Dimensions: 33.5 x 22.5 cm
