Large Gilded Wood Barometer From The French 19th Century
Square frame in gilded wood with palmettes, round interior bezel with window and painted dial signed Duvaldestin, Passage St. Pierre optician in Versailles. In the upper part a carved gilded wood pediment with terrestrial globe, crown of flowers and branches, manuscripts, wings and scrolls. The mercury system is missing. Early 19th century period. Some small losses, chips and a crack on the dial visible in the photos.
