An impressive reworking of a painting by Antoine Coypel by Gérard Audran, the leading engraver active during the reign of Louis XIV, in preparation for his interpretative engraving dedicated to the Marquis Colbert de Villacerf. A magnificent and ambitious testimony to the work of engravers in the 17th century. The drawing is accompanied by an old certificate giving it to ANTOINE COYPEL and his workshop.
