"Charles X Enameled Silver Vermeil Sewing Kit, 19th Century, Scissors, Needle Case"
Enameled silver-gilt sewing kit from the first half of the 19th century. The blackened wooden box is inlaid with mother-of-pearl and brass inlays. There are very small imperfections, but the overall appearance is very nice, with a beautiful French polish. The scissors are enameled silver-gilt (gold-plated silver). One of the branches is very damaged, but not broken. It is also missing a lot of its enamel. The needle case and awl are in fairly good condition with beautiful enamel. The thimble has lost its gilding and much of its enamel, but it is not pierced or dented. The tools are hallmarked "boar's head."
