"Large Oil On Canvas "the Farmer's Wife". Emile Tesson. Golden Wood Frame. V 1890. 19th Century."
In line with two other paintings previously presented in our gallery, here is a large oil signed by the naturalist and self-taught Norman painter, Emile Tesson. In a rural setting, a young farmer distributes grain to the chickens in a typically Norman hovel. Scene of daily life in the Normandy countryside shortly before the cataclysm of the First World War (1914-1918). Naturalist painting is characterized by the representation of nature, of the labors of the traditional agricultural world without embellishments or idealization. In literature, a Zola also describes the realities of his time... Work with a very Norman identity and in "good" condition. Around 1880-1890. Style frame in gilded wood. Work with fresh colors and lively lines. Good condition and large dimensions. Signed Emile Tesson lower right. Norman school from the end of the 19th century.
