Table ''à La Tronchin'' In Mahogany flag

Object description :

"Table ''à La Tronchin'' In Mahogany"
The Tronchin'' table is a tray table that can be raised and tilted as desired, or even positioned horizontally. It opens with a side shelf and a drawer on the front housing a small desk lined with green felt.
Invented by the cabinetmaker Louis Dufour during the second part of the 18th century, it did not bear the name of the Geneva doctor until a few years later.
Note for this example the fine molding at the edges of the base giving it a beautiful elegance. It dates from the end of the 18th century or the very beginning of the 19th century, around 1800.
