Daughter of the painter Alfred Arthur Brunel, Marie Yvonne Laure (1879-1944) was a student of her father and Gérôme. She specialized in animal painting. She exhibited at the Salon from 1900, and became a member of the Salon des artsites français in 1908. She married the journalist and aviator André Bellot in Algiers in 1913. She was arrested by the Gestapo on June 24, 1944 at her home, then deported to Germany and died in the Ravensbrück concentration camp.
