Painting Pierre Langlois Male Nude Very Personal Work

Oil on cardboard by Pierre Langlois born in Montauban on June 27, 1940, died in Louviers on July 5, 1994. He signed part of his work with the pseudonym G. Duroc. This is the case of the painting presented for sale. In 1956, Pierre-Gérard Langlois took decorative arts courses in Rouen. He began painting in 1957, but moving professionally towards stage decor and costume, he worked from 1959 for Jean Vilar's national theater before being a decorator at Lanvin (until 1962), then at Chanel (until 1964). The 1970s were marked by numerous exhibitions both in the provinces and in Paris and abroad. His research will lead him towards another register, always close to abstraction, with much more colorful compositions, with the effects of petrifications and ancient marbling and generally constructed from the theme of the Nude. To dissociate these works, he chose to give them a second signature, G Duroc Pierre-Gérard Langlois was only 54 years old when he died of AIDS.
