Belgian painter, designer and neo-classical etcher of portraits, nudes and still lifes. Student at the Academies of Mons (E. Motte and L. Greuse) and Brussels (J. Delville and H. Richir). Second Prix de Rome in painting (1910), Prix de Rome in engraving (1911). Stays in Italy.
Travel to France, Germany and Austria. Founding member and facilitator of Nervia (1928).
From 1922 onwards, he often participated in the salons of the Mons circle Le Bon Vouloir. This circle organized two tribute exhibitions (1956 and 1971).
Director of the Mons Academy (1929 - 1949). Member of the Royal Academy of Belgium (1947).
