First Empire period. Dutch school from the beginning of the 19th century. Inscribed on the back "Recco pinxit.
Presumably Pierre Recco, Dutch portrait and still life painter.
Raised by John Chr. Schultsz and Adrian de Lelie.
He worked in Brussels and settled in Basel.
Oil on canvas.
Beautiful frame to gilded palmettes from the beginning of the 19th century.
