"Wrought Iron Knocker, 16th Century"
This door knocker is shaped like a lizard, with the front legs replaced by a solid block. The head has a long, pointed snout with an open mouth. The eyes and scales are indicated by holes pressed into hot malleable iron. The tail is coiled and on the back is a coiled snake. Wrought iron, 15th or 16th century, Spain.
