Sold in 1863 and coming from the Valenciennes Public Library (blue ink stamps of ownership and sale on the title), Famous Edition from the collection of French Poets published by Coustelier. The pieces follow each other in this order; Les Repues franches, Le Franc Archier de Baignollet. The Dialogue of Messieurs de Mallepaye and de Baillevant, Letter to Monsieur de ....., by sending him the new edition of the Works of François Villon and The Little Testament of F. Villon, thus titled without the consent of the Author, as he says in the second Book. According to the "advice to readers" the first part. (that is to say in our edition the second and the third), was published following the edition of Clément Marot, with this ifference that we put in the margins the various lessons learned from the editions prior to this last . The footnotes marked by letters are by Clément Marot, those marked by numbers are by another hand. RARE and very beautiful copy in its binding of the edition of "Poètes Français" from the Imprimerie of Antoine-Urbain Coustelier, Printer-Library of SAS Moseigneur le Duc d'Orléans beautiful fine and careful typography for and copy in good condition full porphyry calfskin, boards with triple framed fillets, smooth spine decorated with gilded irons, morocco title and volume number in ocher morocco from the Coustelier house and bearing the number "7", guards and marbled tenches ex-libris to the "Chouette" of the Years" 30" monogrammed AHL; a beautiful collector's item for this wonderful Poet who, through the work of Coustelier and his obstinacy, reaches us a refined text which without him we would perhaps not have been able to know all the delicacy of the language of the French Renaissance.. .
