Second Half Of The 18th Century Tempera On Canvas Venus Bathing flag

Object description :

"Second Half Of The 18th Century Tempera On Canvas Venus Bathing"
Splendid neoclassical representation painted in tempera on canvas, depicting the goddess Venus while bathing. The goddess is seated, half naked, with her breasts exposed and surrounded by three attendants who hurry to assist her. At her feet stands her son Cupid, intent on taking off her sandals. The harmony of the scene is evident in the serene faces of the characters. The painting is framed in a gilded and lacquered wooden frame, with an ivory tone which further accentuates the beauty of the representation. The work, by an anonymous Tuscan author from the second half of the 18th century, is in excellent conservation conditions, keeping its beauty and neoclassical elegance intact.
