Student decorator at the School of Fine Arts in Geneva, Edmond CERIA entered in 1904 at the Académie Julian in Paris, and began at the Salon des Indépendants in 1909, then at the Salon d'Automne in 1912. To live Edmond CERIA is a musician in balls and cafes. During a trip to Tuscany in 1919 he had the revelation of construction and color with Cézanne, with Corot that of color. Indifferent to fashions, stylizing nature, he pursues a work of nuanced and refined landscaper in light touches. Edmond CERIA sets up his easel in Paris, Ardèche, Savoie, Brittany, later in Marseille, in the south and especially in Château-Landon in Seine-et-Marne, which he discovers in 1926. Edmond CERIA exhibits from from 1920 in several Parisian galleries, and participates in numerous events in France and abroad. Edmond CERIA also owes portraits, still lifes and nudes.
