Charming country chest of drawers or "sauté pan". Light walnut, two drawers and turned legs. Around 1780 The sauteuse chest of drawers or "à la Cressent" (named after the cabinetmaker of the same name) appeared under the regency of Philippe d'Orléans around 1720. It must have only two drawers or two rows of drawers. The body must be raised on two feet, first curved then straight at the end of the century. The facade is straight. The width also offers straight shapes. here, the top is not in marble but in wood painted in a “feigned marble” style. Lion prothomées with gilded bronze rings and keyholes. The drawers are lined with rustic Jouey canvas paper with bucolic scenes. Light and graceful furniture. Pretty natural color. Charming piece of furniture with pleasant dimensions. Eighteenth century.
