"Fanghu Ritual Vase"
Bronze covered vase, Fanghu, Han dynasty (206 BC/AD 220). The faceted, pear-shaped body, raised on a square base, is adorned on either side with a mythical taotie mask handle from which a loose ring hangs. The square cover is topped with four flat lugs. Beautiful verdigris/malachite patina, still revealing the bronze aspect of the bronze. H 34 cm x 17 cm x 17 cm (at widest)
