COUDERC (Fernand) – The adulterated Coco.
Large original watercolor and gouache in Art Deco spirit on paper laminated to cardboard 400 x 300 mm, signed in the drawing lower left.
Very good condition.
Handwritten legend in the lower part: - We only find adulterated coconut! - Ah!... where are the snows of yesteryear!...
This watercolor was reproduced in the weekly magazine Le Sourire, No. 713, 34th year, January 1, 1931 with a different caption:

Fernand Couderc (? – around 1934), Member of the Humorists, mainly an advertising designer. In 1921, he failed the Civic Progress competition. He draws for the magazines: Pages Folles – Le Sourire – Paris-Plaisirs – Froufrou – Gens qui rits – Jean qui rit (ref. Dico-Solo, p. 141).
