Superb and elegant 19th century oil painting by Alfred Godchaux (1835-1895). He is the brother of Émile (1860-1938) Godchaux, both are painters of Bordeaux origin. They have a certain talent for representing sea or mountain scenes, notably the Pyrenees. This painting presents a character walking in an undergrowth with the mountain range in the background under the sun. Very luminous work and great realism, the painting is signed lower left and presented in a recent frame. The whole is in perfect state of conservation;
