Pendulum in white marble and chased gilded bronze with the subject of "Psyche and Love", the arched base with relief decoration of puti friezes, leaves and vine branches, XF9 ornamentation of torch and quiver Enamelled dial with Arabic numerals, signed "DETOUR à Paris", highlighted with a garland of flowers and foliage. Louis XVI XVIIIth Period Dimensions: H.34.5 cm; L.27 cm; PP12 cm Jacques-Auguste Détour (born May 16, 1759) is one of the best Parisian watchmakers of the last quarter of the 18th century and the beginning of the following century. Son of Jean Détour, bourgeois of Paris, and Marie-Catherine Guillon, he entered into an apprenticeship for eight years in the workshop of Antoine Cronier in February 1776.
