Louis XVI Period Secretary
Charming secretary in cherry and walnut wood. It opens with four drawers and a flap on the front, inlaid with amaranth, rosewood and sycamore. The flap reveals six drawers, shelf covered in leather (used). Rounded, fluted uprights. Double paneled sides. Sheath feet with lugs, scalloped crosspieces. Patinated bronze ornamentation: pull rings and keyholes with beads and knotted ribbons, clogs. Fir backs, original locks and key. Royal red marble top (chips at the rear corners).
