Very beautiful Africanist scene representing a market, by the leader of Belgian Africanists Fernand Allard L'Olivier.
Oil on cardboard painted with large, flat strokes with a beautiful material, bursting with color, vibrant with rhythm.
Fernand Allard L'Olivier, whose works appear in numerous Belgian and French museums, undertook trips to Africa twice, in 1928 and 1931.
Born in Tournai in Belgium in 1883, he died in Yanongué in Congo in 1933.
Painting in very good condition, circa 1928/1931.
Signed FALO (a small circle representing the O), its acronym for Fernand Allard L'Olivier.
