Antique Lava Cameos Gold Earrings
A pair of yellow lava antique earrings in a full round drop representing Flora ( the Godness of the spring) contoured by roses. On the back a roses's bouquet. Very charming hand-carving. Elegant to wear. End of the 19th century from Naples, probably a Grand Tour souvenir. 14K Gold (touchstone tested). They are in perfect condition. Lava jewellery was a must souvenir among the Grand Tour Tourist of the 19th century in Italy. In different colours, always in classical subjects sometimes they achieved a masterpiece quality for the detailed hand-work engraving.
