Round in shape, in two half shells, entirely gold lacquered in fundame, the very finely sculpted interior decoration presents a Buddha in a seated position, on the lotus, the right hand raised with the palm turned, and in the other shell two apsaras, nymph celestial, in chocolate brown lacquer, one with clasped hands, the other carrying the lotus. Remarkable work of finesse and high quality. Origin: Japan. Period: Meiji (1868-1912). Diameter: 7 cm.
