Lovely and large model of shepherdess called a confessional or with ears, made around the 1900s in a Louis XVI style, this pair of shepherdess made of beech is richly carved with neo-classical motifs very appreciated during the Louis XVI period and more particularly by Marie Antoinette, we thus find rows of pearls, fusarolles and water leaves, rosettes with fine leaves, long acanthus leaves, fallen leaves of prettily wavy laurel leaves, spiral grooves, buds, as well as tors of laurel leaves and berries, all crowned with roses and ribbon bows. Seat of good manufacturing quality as evidenced by the finesse of the sculpture, this type of creation was offered in the beautiful Parisian furniture boutiques at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. The woods are covered with their original paints with wear over time giving them a nice patina, The upholstery is quite recent and in very good condition as is the velvet which is of very good quality, seat in good condition, comfortable and very decorative .
