Ivory okimono depicting a farmer busy managing a giant turnip. With one of his feet he holds the giant turnip firmly while he precisely uses an ax to cut the first slice.

This okimono features the signature Seishi (Shizuyuki) 静之 engraved on a red lacquer tile.

Origin: Japan

Period: Meiji end of 19th century.

Dimensions: 9 x 6.5 x 5.5 cm.
