She is part of the School of Montmartre. She lived in the Montmartre-aux-artistes city “Since her childhood, acrobats have haunted her. Born in Montmartre, but from a family originating from the north of France, she says that in this sad country of bricks, the wanderers had an extraordinary prestige over her. In May 1958, Guillemette Morand hung thirty-five paintings on the walls of the Galerie Vendôme that she had painted in 1957, stating through the landscapes presented that she had traveled that year through France, Spain and Italy, always placing, among other things, wanderers in correlation with his reminiscences of childish daydreams. What strikes the review Connaissance des arts for the entire exhibition is the dominant white color on the one hand, the omnipresent suggestion of the element of fire on the other hand, whether it is simple candle in a still life or grass fire which, in a landscape, “suggests the idea of the melting of forms under the action of atmospheric heat” Public collections: - Museum of Modern Art, New York - National Museum of 'Modern Art, Paris - Museum of Modern Art of the city of Paris - Museum of Fine Arts of Lyon …
