Superb bronze sculpture representing the head and neck of a horse in dressage. Very beautiful expression, we feel the strength and power of the animal but also the mastery of the rider. Bronze horse portraits are rare. Signed Chatil, sculptor from the beginning of the 20th century. Black marble base. Beautiful green patina of the bronze with some micro scratches. The marble base has a shock and two filled holes where a plaque with the horse's name should have been attached. Early 20th century period, around 1920.
