"Christ Circa 1500"
This Christ carved from light wood (lime?) presents a serene face with fine, pinched features, carefully combed hair with large side waves. The beard is indicated by small gouge strokes. The flesh is thin, the knees are torn, the wound in the side is gaping. It dates from the second half of the 15th century.
At the level of the hook of the missing left arm we can detect an old restoration (with plaster? See photo with arrows). He was badly attacked by worms on his feet and upper back. (he was treated twice recently with xylophen).
The polychromy is old (probably from the 17th century with retouching).
