18th Century Cardboard Cabinet Box
Superb and rare large cardboard box forming a cabinet from the 18th century. It opens on the front with 2 drawers fitted with a ring and on the top with a lid including a strong concave molding. Inside the lid is a period colored drawing and at the bottom of one of the drawers a dedication presenting this box as a wedding gift. The entire box is decorated with a paper frieze decoration depicting garlands of flowers and interlacing on a background of paper simulating leather. Quality work in very good condition given its time, object of curiosity and very decorative.
