A superb landscape drawing in ink wash or watercolor by Jean-Vincent DARASSE (1901–1983). A French painter born in Noirmoutier, he is known for having devoted a large part of his work to the island of Noirmoutier, whose marshes, harbors, and scenes of local life he painted. This view is likely a very characteristic scene of Noirmoutier featuring pine trees. Architecture can be made out in the background; the brushwork, executed with great freedom, is entirely in keeping with his style. Signed in the lower right corner and presented under glass in a contemporary frame. A very pleasing, well-executed piece in perfect original condition.
