Puiforcat And E. Callot - Fish Cutlery Set In Chiseled Sterling Silver, Paris 1847-1865
Superb pair of fish serving cutlery composed of a shovel and a fork, the silver handles with rocaille motifs, acanthus leaves and scrolls, centered with a monogram in foliage English letters. The solid silver shovel and fork richly engraved with an armful of finely carved flowers.
Hallmarks:
• Minerve 1er titre (French mark for solid silver 950/1000) (handles, blade and fork).
• Master goldsmith: PUIFORCAT on the handles, Eusèbe CALLOT on the blades and forks.
Very good condition.
Length: 23.2 and 28.1 cm.
Net weight: 242 grams.
Particular refinement of the carving with classic symmetry but a very naturalistic rendering, with special care given to the realism of the flowers and the shadows.
