Very beautiful portrait of an African man in traditional dress by the German painter Rudolf Bendemann (1851-1884). He is known for having painted numerous orientalist scenes. Oil on canvas in very good condition, some small old restorations visible on the reverse but excluding the portrait. Signed lower right R.Bendemann
