The Naked Bather Large Nabis Sculpture Circa 1900
Astonishing and large sculpture in direct size representing a naked bather in wood (walnut) in the lying position. This sculpture can be compared to certain Nabis works such as the sculptures of Georges Lacombes (who themselves were inspired by Gauguin) particularly in terms of the treatment of the almost mystical facial expression and the work of gouge sculpture. Signed on the Sarradet P cap (to be identified) Slits and some visible rubbing otherwise good condition, with its base. Magnificent sculptural work for a rare object. Circa 1900
